Hiring Volunteer Coordinator

Duties: We are in need of set up and take down crew.  If you have a passion for details and are willing to work hard we need your help.  It takes many hands to set tables, place centerpieces, hang signage etc.  We need your help to transform the gardens at SJFC into an unforgettable setting for this silent auction, meal and presetation. We also need many hands to take down the event.

I Give For Kids Phoneathon

Date and Time: September 15- 17, 2014; 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Location: Numerica Adminstration Office, 14610 E. Sprague, Spokane Valley, WA 99216
Duties: The Annual “I Give for Kids” Phonathon to benefit the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery is just around the corner, and we are looking for volunteers to help! Phonathon is a fun event that raises about $65,000 for the Nursery through the effort of volunteers contacting existing Nursery supporters over the phone and asking for their annual gift. This year, the event will take place on three nights, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM each night.

Monday, September 15th

Tuesday September 16th 

Wednesday Septmeber 17th 

There will be lots of food and you’ll have the chance to meet and talk to tons of fantastic Nursery supporters. Best of all, just a few hours of your time will make a huge difference to countless Nursery kiddos and families.

Dog & Cat Socializer

Date and Time: Ongoing
Location: S.C.R.A.P.S. (Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service), 6815 East Trent Avenue
Duties: A Dog and/or Cat Socializer comes to SCRAPS and pets, loves and interacts with SCRAPS critters, in order to provide a positive quality of life while they are in between families.

Kitchen/Meal Assistant

Date and Time: Ongoing
Location: St. Anne’s Children & Family Center (Catholic Charities Spokane), 25 W. 5th Avenue
Duties: We serve three meals a day here at St. Anne’s, breakfast, lunch and snack.  You will be joining our fun kitchen crew which prepares the meal carts for each of the classrooms. Carts are delivered, picked up after meals and set up for the upcoming meal of the day. You are also needed to operate (or be trained to operate) our dish washing machine.
Requirements:  3-5 days a week from 9:30am -1:30pm;  Be able to lift 20-25 lbs.; A current Food Worker Card which can be obtained online at http://www.srhd.org; A TB skin test; Pass a background check and be fingerprinted by the Dept. of Early Learning

Assist with preparing Annual Resource Directory: Guide to Congregations and Community Resources

Date and Time: Ongoing
Location: The Fig Tree, 1323 S. Perry
Duties: The Fig Tree needs volunteers to assist with updating, organizing, proofreading and distributing the annual Directory of Congregations and Community Resources. Different tasks are needed throughout the year. The directory is a vital resource for connecting the faith and nonprofit communities, helping their leaders in making referrals, and connecting people with opportunities to serve.
