A Walk in the Park

Date and Time: September 27th; 10 am to 2 pm
Location: Praire View Park, 61st & Palouse Highway
Duties: A pledge walk to support the SCRAPS Hope Foundation Animal Medical Fund, which provides life-saving medical treatment, enrichment and care to homeless dogs in our area.  Registration is free.

Duck Waddle

Date and Time: September 28; 12 pm to 4 pm
Location: Riverfront Park, 507 N Howard Spokane
Duties: This is a fun, family oriented, timed 5k through Spokane’s beautiful Riverfront Park.  Check-in is at 11am the day of the event; the race will start at Noon.  After the race, join us at 2:30 for the Duck Drop: the exciting start to the famous El Katif Shriners Duck Race down the Spokane River!

Dog & Cat Socializer

Date and Time: Ongoing
Location: S.C.R.A.P.S. (Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service), 6815 East Trent Avenue
Duties: A Dog and/or Cat Socializer comes to SCRAPS and pets, loves and interacts with SCRAPS critters, in order to provide a positive quality of life while they are in between families.

Kitchen/Meal Assistant

Date and Time: Ongoing
Location: St. Anne’s Children & Family Center (Catholic Charities Spokane), 25 W. 5th Avenue
Duties: We serve three meals a day here at St. Anne’s, breakfast, lunch and snack.  You will be joining our fun kitchen crew which prepares the meal carts for each of the classrooms. Carts are delivered, picked up after meals and set up for the upcoming meal of the day. You are also needed to operate (or be trained to operate) our dish washing machine.
Requirements:  3-5 days a week from 9:30am -1:30pm;  Be able to lift 20-25 lbs.; A current Food Worker Card which can be obtained online at http://www.srhd.org; A TB skin test; Pass a background check and be fingerprinted by the Dept. of Early Learning

Assist with preparing Annual Resource Directory: Guide to Congregations and Community Resources

Date and Time: Ongoing
Location: The Fig Tree, 1323 S. Perry
Duties: The Fig Tree needs volunteers to assist with updating, organizing, proofreading and distributing the annual Directory of Congregations and Community Resources. Different tasks are needed throughout the year. The directory is a vital resource for connecting the faith and nonprofit communities, helping their leaders in making referrals, and connecting people with opportunities to serve.
