2014 Spokane National College Fair

Heritage Day

Event Details: Presented by the Spokane Tribe of Indians, Heritage Day includes exhibition dancing, a live river salmon exhibit, wildlife displays, language presentations, archeology displays and many educational hands-on areas including a beading booth. Lights! Camera! Action!

Event Details: An introduction to filmmaking with Adam Boyd of the EWU film department. Come to one class, or all three in the series. For ages 16 and older. Part one cover Pre-Production: So many ideas, but where to begin? This class will cover the basics of storytelling, script writing, and what “pre-production” for a film shoot entails. Part two covers Production: Now we’re rolling! This class will give a brief overview of the basic techniques and theories of camera and light work used on a film set. Part three covers Post Production: What’s next after the shooting is done? This class will give you a general overview of techniques and theories in film editing. Free Benefit Counseling for Veterans

When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Lone Wolf Harley-Davidson, 19011 E. Cataldo Ave.
Event Details: Local military veterans will receive free counseling and assistance with their government benefits from Disabled American Veterans (DAV) when Lone Wolf Harley-Davidson hosts a Military Appreciation Day, the continued the tradition of honoring the U.S. military veterans. Lone Wolf Harley-Davidson will have counselors from the DAV to help any veteran with any need and have a free lunch and snacks for the veterans and their families. The lunch will be provided by Costco. The public is invited to come in and thank the veterans. We will also be accepting donations for the DAV. There will be holiday cards on hand for anyone to write a simple thank you to a veteran. The cards will be taken to our local Veterans Home in Spokane to be given out.

Bump To Baby Expo

Event Details: Second annual event is designed to educate moms and dads about being better parents, and at the same time, have fun with games like the Baby Crawl Races! Purchase baby type products, gather information, and talk to professionals in the baby industry. Special classroom presentations on cloth diapering and breastfeeding will be done by Bloom Spokane. An infant CPR class and babywearing class will be taught by Mother’s Haven. A Safety Zone that teaches car seat safety and safe sleep will be presented by Basket For Babies and Inland Northwest SIDS Foundation.
