Event Description: Daddy 101 – A “crash course” evening that captures the unique experience that fatherhood brings. Men will be inspired and equipped for their transition into fatherhood. In this class, Dads will learn the basic skills they need to navigate through their child’s early stages. We will discuss everything from diapering, sleep schedules, and learn how to keep this new kid clean in the bath. We invite all dads to come and join in on the fun! Register at DeaconessSpokane.com. Event Description: “Spokane in 1889” – “Spokane in 1889,” having barely emerged from a devastating fire in Spokane Falls in 1889, Washington was declared a state. This exhibit features photos of the residents rebuilding during this time of hard work and renewal, Nov. 11-30.

Event Description: Spokane Valley Partners Food Bank – Food baskets will be provided to those Spokane Valley residents who sign up for them. Sign-ups will be accepted on Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1:30-3:45 p.m., and Thursdays, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., through Nov. 20. Recipients must be a Spokane Valley resident, have identification, proof of household residents, i.e. utility bill, mail with name/address on it, school record, or Medicaid card. Event Description: Preparing for your Cesarean Birth – A Cesarean (C-Section) delivery is planned for many different reasons. This class is specifically designed for couples who know they will be having a Cesarean birth. You will be walked through the admission process and pre-operative procedures and medications to help prepare for your delivery, along with the road to recovery and how to bond with your baby during and immediately following surgery. You’ll see a video of a C-section and tour the operating and post-partum hospital rooms to help prepare for your special day.
