Fresh Start Community Garden Spring Clean Up Day

Date and Time: March 14th; 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Description: Hello Urban Gardeners! Spokane Valley Partners and Spokane Valley Partners Community Gardens is pleased to welcome everyone back to Fresh Starts for another growing season.

We’ll be kicking our season off by getting prepped with general site maintenance and repairs. Work begins Saturday March 14th at 9am and will likely go on until about 1pm. We will be cleaning out the garden shed, composting last year’s plants, and making any necessary repairs from winter. Feel free to come work the whole shift or just drop in to say hello.

Volunteers will need to bring their own lunch, water bottle, gloves, and a shovel or rake. Some snacks and drinks will be provided. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Walking School Bus Volunteers

Agency: Spokane Regional Health District, 1101 W College Ave
Description: Volunteers, want a great start to your morning? Safe Routes to Schools is recruiting volunteers for the Walking School Bus program. A Walking School Bus is a group of children walking to school with two or more adults trained to help keep kids safe. It’s a simple program with far reaching benefits for families.Volunteers will undergo a background check and receive trainings. The program launches April 20 and continues until the last day of school.  We seek volunteers available one morning per week (2-3 mornings ideal) from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. to assist in building this program.

Technology and You Classroom Assistant
