Date and Time: March 28, 2015 From 09:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.
Location: Forest Spokane; Please meet at 2839 W. Clark Avenue Spokane, WA 99201 in the parking lot. Once volunteers cross over the Spokane River by way of the Sandifur Bridge planting will occure in the beautiful natural area along the Spokane River to the east and west.
Description: Be directly involved in this unique stormwater mitigation project by helping to plant 3,000 ponderosa pine seedlings along the Spokane River.
Everyone is welcome! Bring the kids so they can watch the trees grow over the years! The event will aim to plant all 3,000 seedlings as part of Phase I of this project. There will be a follow up planting event on April 25th as part of Cleaning From the Core (CFTC).
We need a variety of volunteers, young and old, the project will require digging, carrying seedlings and supplies such as a shovel, pick ax, mulch, and water.
Please bring your own gloves, shovels, and/or pick ax for the project. There will be some supplies available the day of the event. Bring your own water and dress appropriately for the weather.
