Update: Budget negotiations between the House and Senate are heated and the House just proposed a new budget that would eliminate WTAP/CVM!
Our state legislators have still not agreed on a final budget. This means that our government is heading towards a shutdown on July 1, and many state funded programs helping families and individuals living on low-incomes will stop providing services, including funding for Community Voicemail!
We need to tell our legislators to come to a budget agreement before the end of June, and include Community Voicemail in their final budget! Please call the legislative Hotline at 1.800.562.6000 and leave a message for your State Legislators that says: Please don’t allow the government to shut down, a move which will hurt many people in our state. Please include Community Voicemail in the final budget, a program that helps people in need stay connected.
You can also send an email your legislators through an online Community Voicemail action page by clicking this link: http://statevoices.salsalabs.com/o/30/p/dia/action3/common/public/?action_KEY=611
Thank you for your time and help.
