Riverfront Park Job Fair – Saturday, February 6th

The City of Spokane Parks and Recreation Department is holding its’ 24th Annual Job Fair on February 6, 2016, in the IMAX Theatre main pavilion area from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

This City of Spokane Parks and Recreation Department Job Fair will provide information on 200+ spring and summer positions at Riverfront Park, Manito Park Bench Café, Merkel Sports Complex and the City’s Aquatic Centers.

Spokane Homeless Connect – January 19

Spokane’s 2016 Homeless Connect will be taking place from 10AM-3PM on Tuesday, January 19th at The Salvation Army’s Community Center, located at 223 E. Nora Ave. STA Buses #25 and #27 serve the location.

Services available include:

  • Family Services
  • Veteran Services
  • Medical Screenings
  • Clothing
  • Food Bank
  • Housing Services
  • Veterinary Care for Pets, and more

Holiday Turkey Bingo at East Central Community Center

Event Flyer: Turkey Bingo

There will be a Holiday Turkey BINGO event (open at no cost to all families) at East Central Community Center (500 S. Stone Street, Spokane, WA 99202) this Friday, December 18th  from 6p-8p (Doors open at 5:30p).  This event is sponsored by Better Health Together, Amerigroup, Community Health Plan of WA, Coordinated Care, and Molina Healthcare.  There will be a resource fair with various community agencies, free haircuts, snacks, food demonstrations and distribution by WSU Food Sense and 2nd Harvest Food Bank, pictures with Santa and BINGO – winners win a turkey!

Access Spokane Expo: Job Fair for persons with disabilities

The Access Spokane Expo is coming soon! It is a job fair for persons with disabilities, there are booths with lots of free giveaways, and there will be employers on site prepared to interview. There will be displays and vendors as well with adaptive services and devices available. If you have any disabilities and are seeking employment, this may be the perfect job fair to attend. Avista Energy Fairs — Coming Soon!

Avista 2015 Energy Fairs:

  • September 30, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    Millwood Community Center

  • October 6, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    West Central Community Center
    1603 N. Belt St., Spokane

Avista employees and community service providers will be on hand to answer questions about the following:

  • Energy Efficiency – Low-cost and no-cost efficiency demonstrations for solutions like rope caulking, door sweeps and window plastic. Free samples will be handed out.
  • Bill Assistance – Avista customer service representatives can answer billing questions, provide information about payment options and refer to energy assistance programs. Participants can also learn how to use Avista’s free online Bill Analyzer.
  • Community Resources – Avista and community service partners will be on hand to answer questions about energy assistance, weatherization and other topics.

Unity In The Community is happening next Saturday, August 15th 10:00am – 4:00pm at the Riverfront Park.

The Salvation Army will be hosting the Backpacks For Kids distribution and resource fair on Thursday, August 20th from 9:00am – 6:00pm.

Backpacks For Kids is the largest backpack and school supply distribution in the Northwest Region. We anticipate handing out more than 5,000 backpacks filled with supplies to children in our community.
